How to buy Premium after buying individual features?

After buying all the individual features (for more money) because you can’t get the Premium bundle under family sharing, we are still being pinged about buying Premium and my daughter is still looking at ads. I removed the Apple ID from family sharing and tried to just buy the Premium bundle directly, but it STILL doesn’t work. Do I have to uninstall and start over? My daughter has lots of projects saved and I worry about losing them if I uninstall.

Hey Tyra,

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing an issue. Could you provide us with a couple of answers please, so that we can assist you in the best possible way:

1. What is the version of the iOS that you have and on which device?

2. What is the version of the App that you have?

3. When your daughter is using a family shared account and you go under settings - premium features - are they checked or you still see option to buy them?

4. You purchased the bundle from your regular Apple ID and you still see the ads? Check please if the device restart will help.


If you have premium features active, that includes the feature to backup your projects (Share projects) please do that to save all the work.

It's an iPad 7th generation (2019) with iOS 13.7, app version 2.0.2. The only option for buying is the Premium Feature Bundle; the rest of the features have been purchased. I purchased the individual features under Family Sharing (because I didn't realize you couldn't buy the bundle that way), though the ID used was my daughter's. After she still got ads, I removed her ID from family sharing, set up payment through her ID, and tried to buy Premium directly, but still can't (maybe because we'd already purchased the individual features?). Am wondering if I need to try uninstalling the app entirely (we can back up my daughter's projects), and then reinstall and try to purchase Premium with direct payment? But am wondering whether because the Apple ID is the same, we will run into the same problem (cannot buy premium after purchasing all the individual features) -- maybe if I don't restore purchases? Basically, I just want to start over now that I know you should only buy Premium with direct payment (not Family Sharing)! : ) : )

Thank you for your detailed response.

So let's focus on the main issue, which is seeing the ads, even after you bought the features. Could you send us a screenshot as well of the features tab, with "Remove Ads" marked?

That shouldn't be the case, that you can't purchase a bundle because of the rest of the features.

Uninstalling the app might help with this one because you do have the latest app version and a pretty new device as well and it is great that you are familiar that it will also delete the projects (and not the movies) so make sure to do a backup. Premium purchases are tied to the Apple ID and they can't be shared via family accounts. So let's try that and just log in with the ID that has "Remove ads" purchase on it and let us know if that helps :)

Thank you for your response. Am now seeing the issue: There is no "remove ads" feature listed, so haven't purchased that. Are you sure that's a thing? Listed features (all purchased) are Export Image Sequence, Remove watermark, Customize canvas sizes, Customize grid settings, Add your own audio, Add longer videos, Add more layers, Customize onion settings, Share projects.

Hi, we have removed "Remove Ads" from the purchase list and it is now a part of the premium bundle. So if you have a screenshot or proof of purchase from before and it is not working please let me know. Igor

The removing ad feature was never an option for us (we only downloaded the app like 10 days ago and I tried to buy Premium right away but did so under Family Sharing, which didn't work, so then bought all the features individually, which was obviously a mistake, sigh :-). So, we might be back to this question: Can I uninstall the app, download it again and buy Premium using the original ID (this time directly, not through Family Sharing), and therefore get rid of the ads, or are we stuck forever with what we have now (all the features for more money but not really Premium)? I cannot change the ID used for the app, as that's the one associated with the device. : ) : )

We have removed "Remove Ads" about a month ago from the individual purchases and it is now only available as a part of the "Premium Feature Bundle".

So the final answer to your question is that in order to get rid of the ads and get all other options unlocked you should use Apple ID that can purchase the bundle pack, but you have to be logged in to that account on the device to use it.
